On June 5, 2023, Reichman University’s G City Real Estate Institute held one of a series of meetings on the subject of housing prices in Israel. The meeting, which was held online, featured Dr. Efrat Tolkowsky, CEO of the G City Real Estate Institute at Reichman University, and Ram Geffen, director of the research department at Madlan.
In the meeting, data from the G City Institute's Index of Housing Prices (formerly the Gazit-Globe Institute's Index of Housing Prices) for the first quarter of 2023 were presented, and a discussion was held on the topic of housing prices in Israel. Among the topics discussed were the methodology employed by the G City Institute's Index, the differences between the G City Institute's Index and the Central Bureau of Statistics' housing price index, the volume of transactions used to create the index, trends in housing prices both at the national level and in different regions across Israel, and changes in mortgage interest rates. In addition, trends in the Israeli real estate market as reflected in data from Madlan’s website were presented.
