Student Union

There are various departments of the Student Union: clubs, culture, welfare, marketing, administration, the secretary general’s department, and the academic forum that includes the representatives of the various tracks.

At the heart of the Student Union are its volunteers. Every year, about 400 volunteers initiate and manage hundreds of different events and projects for the benefit of the students, on top of its ongoing activities for the advancement and representation of students in academic matters, welfare, reserve army duty, and more.

The heads of the Student Union are chosen by the student body in direct elections. Students who join the Union by paying the annual dues receive access to a long list of special benefits and services.

Academia
The Union represents the students to the faculty and student administration via the representatives of the different tracks, is involved in course placements and exam dates, offers tutorials, private lessons, and exam prep courses, and helps students with special needs of different kinds. The Union also helps reserve soldiers with their specific needs, in collaboration with the Dean of Student Affairs. It also works to improve the quality of teaching at IDC and to implement learning technologies.

Student Welfare
The Union works to improve the lives of students in all areas connected directly and indirectly to their studies. For example, the Student Union arranges study areas, raises scholarship funds, organizes reductions in municipal taxes, operates a database to help students find housing, monitors cafeteria prices, offers benefits for reservists, and finds discounts and consumer benefits for students. In the association’s app you will find all the relevant information for students on campus. In addition, the credit club provides you with unique benefits.

Campus Life
The Student Union strives to create a rich and diverse social life on campus and connect between students of the various schools. For example, the Union’s various clubs hold cultural events, webinars and lectures for all students, student conferences are held in cooperation with the schools, and subsidized fitness training sessions are offered. In addition, the Student Union encourages and promotes independent social and cultural student initiatives and provides assistance and support in implementing them.

Social Involvement
The Student Union initiates events for social engagement, assists in the implementation of volunteering programs, and exposes students to the array of volunteering options available to them. In addition, the Union runs the Intergenerational Scholarship Program in collaboration with the Dean of Student Affairs, the City of Herzliya, and Mifal Hapayis. The program offers social scholarships to RU students while connecting them with senior citizens, children, and youth in the city of Herzliya.
