The Berman-Lippa Family Foundation Debate Club

The Reichman University, similarly to leading universities around the world, operates an award-winning debate club that boasts achievements both in Israel and abroad. The club enables students to acquire and improve their argumentation and speaking skills in the framework of enjoyable and challenging activities. Like a competitive sport, debating aims to champion a position through the use of rhetoric, logically building an argument and creative and critical thinking.

Debate Club members are selected each year from hundreds of applicants. The club’s achievements are impressive - including winning the Israeli championship several years in a row, winning the European championship and reaching the finals of the world championship. In the past academic year, club members made it to the semi-finals of the Israeli championship and also served on the senior judging panel of the European championship. The Debate Club members hold the Israeli championship title for 2014, second place
in the world championship for 2013 and second place in the European for 2012.
