As part of my Entrepreneurship and Business administration degree, I had the opportunity to visit Pitango's offices in Sarona, Tel Aviv.

Pitango is the largest Israeli venture capital fund with almost 3B$ under management.

We met Ori Barzilay, Senior Associate at “Pitango First”.

In the beginning, Ori explained to us the divisions of the company and the differences between them.

Pitango have three divisions:
Pitango First –focuses on early-stage companies, Pitango Growth –focuses on more mature companies, and Pitango HealthTech –focuses on Healthcare technologies.
In the conversation, we spoke about Pitango First, where he works. We learned about the way they select their investments and were exposed to their guidelines in their 4Ts & I plan.

Team – a leadership of founders with many areas of knowledge and orientation to the market of his product.

Theme – looking for a business in a huge market (TAM) or a strong strategic opportunity to dominate the category and an attractive business model.

Terms – huge payback potential on the investment and an active role at the company.
Technology – unique and defensible.

Impact – always trying to find an opportunity to do good for society or the planet without causing damage to the business model.

As a first-year student of Entrepreneurship, I feel very lucky to hear about the ways of the industry, especially from such a successful and large venture capital fund.

I would like to thank Reichman University and everyone who took part in this amazing program.
