The Gazit-Globe Real Estate Institute held an online meeting on the implications of Tel-Aviv-Yafo’s new parking policy on residential construction

On December 21, 2020, the Gazit-Globe Real Estate Institute held an online meeting on the implications of Tel-Aviv-Yafo’s new parking policy on residential construction. The Tel-Aviv-Yafo Municipality is working to advance parking regulations that will support the accelerated development of the city's public transportation system, economic growth and urban renewal. This policy will dictate the necessary allocation of various types of parking spots and the rules for managing the city’s parking spaces, including the setting of a maximum number of parking spots in new building plans. During the meeting, the parking regulations for new residential buildings in Tel-Aviv-Yafo were presented, and a discussion was held on the planning and economic aspects of the policy.

 

The meeting was moderated by Keren Marciano, economic editor of Channel 12 News, and featured the following speakers: Meital Lehavi, deputy mayor of Tel-Aviv-Yafo for Transportation, Construction and Infrastructure; Prof. Amnon Lehavi, dean of the Harry Radzyner Law School and academic director of the Gazit-Globe Real Estate Institute at Reichman University; Dr. Efrat Tolkowsky, CEO of the Gazit-Globe Real Estate Institute; Hagit Naali-Yosef, director of Strategic Planning at the Tel-Aviv-Yafo Municipality; Udi Carmeli, Tel-Aviv-Yafo City Engineer; Daniella Possek, chair of the Tel Aviv District Planning and Building Commission; Gidi Lerman, CEO of GL Urban Systems Planning and Management; Prof. Omer Moav of the Tiomkin School of Economics at Reichman University; Arieh Kamil of Kamil Treshanski Refael Real Estate Appraisers; Roni Kinsbrunner, senior director of Economic Planning at the Tel-Aviv-Yafo Municipality; Adv. Tomer Saliah, member of the board and deputy chairman of the municipal committee of the Contractors Association in the Tel-Aviv-Yafo and central district and CEO of Saliah-Rothschild, and Daniela Paz Erez, founder and CEO of Paz Economy and Engineering.
