Media Coverage

In this project, we focus on how Israel is covered by US media. We analyze both US print and digital media coverage of Israel. For print, we survey coverage of Israel and Israel-related issues in major national newspapers – The New York Times, USA Today and the The Wall Street Journal. We examine each news item mentioning Israel and analyze it for content and tone. For television, we examine news reporting about Israel, comparing between various sources. And for new media, we examine what is said on social networks and the variation of exposure to different groups in American society. In addition, we assess the relationship between media coverage of Israel, elite rhetoric and public opinion.
