Digital Biomarkers for Assessing and Evaluating Suicidal Thoughts and Behaviors among Children Suffering from Depression

In this observational study, conducted in collaboration with the Schneider Youth Hospital, we focus on monitoring of children who are treated for depression. This study aims to develop digital biomarkers for behavioral patterns in order to identify, objectively monitor, and asses suicidal and self-harm thoughts and/or behavior within the study population.

60 patients that fill out an informed consent form, sign in for the duration of 6 months each. In this time period, we collect passive usage logs of the patients' smartphone, as well as vocal answers to predefined questions in a freeform language. The patients also fill out a self-reporting digital questionnaire once a week via the app. The patients are assessed by clinicians (via questionnaires that asses the severity of suicidal thoughts) in the clinic.
