About 9,700 students are enrolled at the ZHAW in a total of 26 Bachelor’s degree programmes and 13 consecutive Master’s programmes.Their finance faculty in the Institute of Banking are the most knowledgeable in the world about global banking trends and the operation of the Swiss banking model.


  • Language Requirement: Since the language of instruction is either German or English, incoming students must have good skills in one or both of these languages. As proof of sufficient language skills, the following certificates at B2+/C1 as stipulated by the Central European Framework (CEFR) are accepted:
  • TOEFL: 550 / 213 / 79
  • IELTS: 6.5
  • Cambridge Advanced: Grade C
  • BEC Higher: Grade C

  • ZHAW is located in Winterthur which is Switzerland’s sixth largest city with a population of about 100,000. Today Winterthur is a service and high tech industry centre, but many people make use of its proximity to Zurich which is only 18 minutes by train.
  • Winterthur is also home to many Swiss and international companies, and it has a dynamic cultural life, hosting a range of events each month, including an international festival of short films, a music festival, and an African cultural festival.
