The origins of the University of Bologna go way back, and it is considered to be the oldest university in the Western world.


It was founded in 1088 The University has about 85,000 students in its 23 schools and host around 2,500 exchange students every year.

  • International exchange students attending a period of study at the University of Bologna, can contact the Student Accommodation and Information Service (SAIS) service for support in the search for housing in the private market and for help with rental agreements.
