Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (also known as UM6P) is an institution oriented towards applied research and innovation with a focus on Africa. Its main campus location is in Ben Guerir, near Marrakech, with branches in Rabat and Laayoune. The University hosted its first cohort of students in 2013 before being officially inaugurated in January of 2017.


The Faculty of Governance, Economics and Social Sciences' (FGSES-UM6P) mission is to offer initial and executive training in human sciences and social policies focused on public policies and the specific issues they raise in Morocco and across the African continent. The training and research falls within four main fields, linked to each other by a strong requirement of interdisciplinarity: political science, international relations, behavioral and social sciences for public policies and economic sciences.

Location & Facilities


The Faculty of Governance, Economics and Social Sciences is located in the city of Rabat. Rabat is the Moroccan capital and hosts the central administration as well as diplomatic representations and international institutions. The city has a vibrant cultural life hosting some music festivals and regular cultural events. The Faculty of Governance, Economics and Social sciences hosts public events on a regular basis such as book presentations, conferences from renowned scholars as well as guest lecturers, scientific seminars and expositions.

 

Both on and off campus housing is available and staff at the Faculty of Governance, Economics and Social Sciences provides assistance and information on possible accommodations.

Academic Information


All information related to modules such as course syllabi becomes available on the student’s platform once their enrollment is confirmed by the Students’ Affairs Department. This could occur a couple days before the beginning of the semester or when the semester begins. During the first week of classes, incoming exchange students are allowed to add and drop courses to adjust their weekly schedule and meet the academic requirements of their home institution.
