Idan Ofer

 

Idan Ofer, Chairman of the Bo​​ard of Israel Corporation, is an international business leader who brings innovation and inspiration for business growth in Israel and abroad. 

 

Idan Ofer was born in 1955 in Haifa, where he was exposed to the world of​ shipping from an early age. He served in the Israeli Navy as a Deputy Commander of a Dabur-class ship.


Mr. Ofer is a graduate of Haifa University in Economics and Shipping. He is a member of the Global Advisory Board of the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and a member of Reichman University Board of Directors.


Idan Ofer is the founder of the School of Sustainability, which opened its doors at Reichman University in 2012. The school nurtures a new generation of leaders that are prepared for the environmental challenges of the future, through

sustainability studies steeped in economics, public policy and law.

Mr. Ofer is Chairman of the Board of Israel  Corporation, Israel’s leading holding company. The company, which is owned by the Ofer family, is active in the fields of shipping, chemicals and energy technology, showing tremendous momentum under Mr. Ofer’s leadership.

 

Mr. Ofer carries his focus on green energy in his investment philosophy, and he serves as the Chairman of Better Place, an innovative developer of alternative transportation solutions. He is a member of the board in various distinguished companies active in the fields of chemicals, shipping, energy and semiconductors.

 

He also is former Chairman of the Mizrachi Bank.​
