Gil Tamary is the Chief International Editor and Commentator for Israel's Channel 13 News.

 

During his 20+ year tenure as Washington Bureau Chief for Israel’s Channel 13 News, Gil covered a wide range of Middle East issues from the U.S. and conducted exclusive interviews with dignitaries, political figures, and business leaders.

 

Some of his notable career highlights include covering the Camp David Summit in 2000, securing exclusive interviews with Presidents Clinton, Bush, and Obama, and conducting interviews with many of Israel’s Prime Ministers, including Benjamin Netanyahu, Ehud Barak, Ehud Olmert, Ariel Sharon,
and Shimon Peres.

 

In February 2022, on the eve of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Gil embarked on a month-long mission to bring Israeli viewers daily coverage of life in Ukraine.

 

On the lighter side, Gil has interviewed many of Hollywood’s hottest stars, among them John Travolta, Cameron Diaz, Tina Fey, Barbara Streisand, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Natalie Portman, Kim Kardashian, and Gal Gadot.

 

As a producer and director, Gil has created several acclaimed documentary news series, including "The Attack That Changed The World," which revisits the heroes of 9/11 20 years after covering the event in the field, "Long Live The King," which focuses on Donald Trump’s long-lasting impact and the conspiratorial right in the U.S., and "The Italian Rebellion," which examines the rise of the extreme right in Italy, among others.

 

Gil's expertise in the field of economics has also earned him accolades, having served as International Editor of Forbes Israel magazine, Economic Editor for Israel’s IDF radio, and a writer for Israel’s #1 business newspaper, Globes. Early in his career, Gil even anchored the popular morning news show "Good Morning Israel."

 

Gil holds an M.B.A. and a B.A. with distinction in Economics and Management from Tel Aviv University.
