Outstanding students in the military reserves: Dean's List and President's List for the academic years 2022-2023 and 2023-2024

The reality of the “Iron Swords” War has prompted the university administration to extend greater recognition to our students who are IDF reservists and increase the number of honorees on the Dean’s List and President’s List. Below are the updated guidelines for the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 academic years.

2022-2023 academic year:

  • For recognition as a Dean's List student, the counting of days in the reserves will be between the dates October 30, 2022 and October 6, 2023 (reserve days as part of the “Iron Swords” War will be counted in the academic year 2023-2024).
  • Eligibility for the Dean’s List will not be impaired due to a lack of final grades for that year resulting from reserve service in the “Iron Swords” War.

2023-2024 academic year:

  • The counting of reserve days for recognition as a Dean's List student will commence on October 7, 2023.
  • Eligibility for the Dean’s List will not be impaired by a binary passing grade. The student’s average will be calculated based on their other grades.
  • According to Section 37 of the academic regulations, a Military Reserves Dean’s List certificate is granted annually to one student in each study track who, despite not making the Dean’s List, actively served in the military reserves for 21 days or more during that academic year, and whose grade average for the year was not lower than 85.

For the 2023-2024 academic year, it has been decided to increase the number of Military Reserves Dean’s List honorees to four students: One in accordance with the criteria stated above, and three additional students as outlined below:

  • A student who served in the reserves between 22-59 days with the highest average, not below 85
  • A student who served in the reserves between 60-89 days with the highest average, not below 85
  • A student who served in the reserves for more than 90 days with the highest average, not below 85

President’s List

Each year, two outstanding students with the highest grades for the entire year across all schools are selected for the President’s List.

For the 2023-2024 academic year, a decision has been made to add a Military Reserves President’s List honoree. This will be the student with the highest average among those who served over 90 days in reserve duty, with a minimum average of 85. In total, there will be three President’s List honorees, one of whom will be a student who is reservist.
