SpaceIL

About SpaceIL - SpaceIL is a non-profit organization aimed to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, and dreamers, by executing highly challenging and inspiring space missions. Founded in 2011, SpaceIL launched in 2019 Beresheet1, a low-cost lunar program and the 1st Israeli, non-governmental spacecraft that reached the moon and the 7th to ever capture the moon. Beresheet1 had a huge educational impact on more than 2 million students, who got fascinated by STEM education. SpaceIL is now working on its new mission Beresheet2.

Beresheet2 Mission – Engineering mission
Upon arrival at the moon, the spacecraft will split into three: two landers that will be released from the orbiter, landing at separate locations on the moon, and an orbiter that will continue to orbit the moon on a long-term mission. This will be the first-ever dual lander deployment and the smallest landers to ever soft-land on the moon.

Educational mission
Encouraging K-12 students to pursue STEM education (science, technology, engineering & math) following a narrative of "Dream big and Make it happen".

As a part of the volunteering contribution at the organization, our volunteers visit schools across the country, giving lectures about the Beresheet1 story and about our new lunar mission Beresheet2.

Children are shown that the sky is not the limit, that they can reach the stars and make their dreams come true if they only dare and if science and engineering knowledge are made accessible for them.
