Directions for Applying for Exam Accommodations for
Learning Disabilities and/or ADHD

Please carefully read Reichman University's policy regarding exam accommodations and the procedure for applying for them.
It is important to note that the University's policy may be different from that of previous schools and programs attended.

Accommodations are granted only to those students who can submit documents attesting to the fact that their learning/concentration issues directly impact their learning abilities, due to one of the following:

  1. Learning disabilities that directly impact study ability and performance.
  2. Diagnosed attention and concentration difficulties that directly impact study ability and performance.
  3. Physical disabilities, medical, or mental health issues that directly impact study ability and performance – these accommodations are granted by the Accessibility and Study Skills Center, please consult your academic coordinator, or follow this link >>

Accommodations will not be awarded for other problems that may influence learning abilities such as: low capability/disinterest/lack of motivation in particular areas; poor learning strategies; test anxiety, etc.

To apply for exam accommodations, students must submit the appropriate documents no later than 5 weeks before the end of the semester, in order to guarantee the request will be processed in time for that semester's exams. Applications submitted after this time, including appeals, will be processed in accordance with the university's time constraints.

For instructions, and to upload your documents, please use the link “Learning Disabilities – Exams” found in your MyRU.

What documents are needed:

Students who have completed high school in Israel, and did regular Bagrut exams (without special accommodations for new immigrants), even if they are studying in the international program, must do a specific kind of testing called Matal מת"ל. For more information, please refer to the Hebrew website
Overseas students who completed high school outside of Israel must submit relevant documents as follows:

  • The diagnostic reports submitted must be from a certified professional who has training in diagnosing adults with learning disabilities (i.e., a psychologist) and/or attention/concentration disorders (i.e., a psychiatrist or neurologist).
  • In cases of psycho-didactic or neuro-psychological assessments, the professional who conducts the assessment must use a comprehensive test battery including standardized tests accepted in the field, with test scores reported using standardized scales.
  • The documents must be recent, normally not more than 5 years old, unless the student was diagnosed earlier with a chronic, unchanging condition.
  • The diagnostic report must include a clear clinical diagnosis and a clear rationale for recommending special accommodations.
  • Students who received exam accommodations at previous, post-secondary institutions, or for college entrance exams, are asked to submit documentation to this effect.
  • Students who were entitled for test accommodations in previous studies at Reichman university are requested to update Exam department at bhinot@runi.ac.il

Please note: An IEP, or other proof of accommodations during high school, is not enough to receive accommodations here at the university.

In general, accommodations granted in the past may not be available or recognized here, and Reichman University has no obligation to accept recommendations that appear on the diagnostic report, either in full or in part.

For overseas RRIS students, after your documents are submitted, a personal meeting will be scheduled with one of the psychologists from the Counseling Services who will review your documents, discuss your eligibility for accommodations, and submit a formal request for your accommodations. Once this process is complete, you will receive an official letter from the Testing Services, signifying that the accommodations are in place.
