  1. Separation of Studying Area from Leisure Area – Define your desk with all studying materials as the studying area and other rooms as the Leisure area. This ensures better concentration and improving your ability to memorize studying materials. Make sure you study in the studying area and leave other rooms for the purpose of leisure activities.
  2. Leisure Activity at home – To maximize results our brain needs leisure activity from time to time. Leisure activities at home can be: listening to music, dancing with music, cooking – can be excellent as a break to relax from your studies, practice mindfulness, indoor sport – like yoga, jumping with skipping rope or physio ball.
  3. Daily routine – keeping a daily routine helps your studies, ensures reaching your targets, which provides a feeling of success. Keeping a fixed time for your meals is a good anchor to begin with. Your daily schedule should be planned according to the meals schedule, which should include time for studying and time for leisure. It is particularly important to define a time to start your day and a time to end your day. This helps to build new daily routine.
  4. Our brain – our brain has two critical thinking modes for studying and memorizing. In order to effectively study and memorize, we should move from focused mode of thinking to Defused mode of thinking. Define time for studying – using the Focused mode of thinking, and time for leisure (listening to music, cooking, and sport) which will be using the Defused mode of thinking. This Ping Pong method is the best way our brain studies.
  5. Define your daily targets – as part of your daily routine, your morning should start with defining your targets for your studies and for your leisure. The secret for success is to know how to define clearly realistic targets.
  6. Practice Mindfulness – training our brain is important just as training our muscles. Mindfulness practice has been proved by research, as helping concentration, our memory and other required studying skills.
  7. Diversity in your studying methods – always important for your brain, particularly when studying at home. Use different methods for studying, YouTube, Podcasts, and software for flashcards for easy retrieval of your material.
  8. Multitasking is an illusion – Empties our brain. Avoid doing multiple cognitive tasks simultaneously such as Reading text book and checking your WhatsApp. Research shows that our brain cannot do multitasking; we get more tired, and make more mistakes. Define every moment, what exactly is your task, and for how long, and ensure all media is out of reach. This is the only way to gain control on your attention.
  9. My To Don't List – Write a list and hang it on the wall in several places, of things you have to avoid during the day. E.G. reading the news, watching more than one chapter of a Netflix series. This will ensure your attention is not distracted during the day.
  10. Encourage yourself – Every good manager knows that it is important to encourage his team when targets are reached. Pamper yourself with a good shower, a movie at the end of the day. Who can encourage you if not yourself? This will provide you with new energy to continue.
