Dean’s Welcome

  • Prof. Lior Zemer

Dean of Harry Radzyner Law School

Since its inception, the Harry Radzyner Law School has been at the forefront of legal research in Israel and around the world. The school's tradition of academic excellence, which began in 1994 when it became Reichman University’s first school, is a realization of the university's core objectives of excellence in research and teaching alongside education for leadership and social responsibility.

The school provides a legal education that incorporates interdisciplinarity in both the in-depth theoretical knowledge it teaches and in the practical training it offers. The law school has eight undergraduate study tracks. These include three dual degree programs – Law and Business Administration, Law and Government, and Law and Psychology, three programs that combine an LL.B. in Law with a direct continuation to a master's degree in Business Administration, Government, or Law, Technology and Business Innovation, and an honors program. The school has two graduate programs, and in 2018 it received the authorization of the Council for Higher Education to award a Ph.D. in Law. The school has an experiential study unit that comprises more than twelve legal clinics, seven practicums, a number of moot courts, the Law and Business journal, and a large number of projects with which you can get involved as part of your academic training. The academic challenges you will encounter over the course of your studies will provide you with opportunities for integration into the workforce and professional growth that are unique to graduates of the school.

All of this is what makes the Harry Radzyner Law School one of the leading schools in Israel in the development of legal research and analysis capabilities that give our graduates a significant edge in the competitive 21st century market. You will find the school's graduates in the top law firms, in the judiciary, pursuing graduate degrees in prestigious academic institutions around the world and as members of academic faculty, in senior positions in media and business, in governmental institutions, and in international organizations. Our graduates’ success regularly puts the school at the top of the list of law schools with the highest rate of students passing the Israel Bar Association exam.

The school's commitment to in-depth research is also reflected in the activities of the Zvi Meitar Institute for Legal Implications of Emerging Technologies and the Gazit-Globe Real Estate Institute, which promote research alongside collaborations with academic institutions around the world. The Harry Radzyner School is also a founding member of the Law Schools Global League, which comprises more than thirty law schools from around the world. One of the central objectives we have defined for the school is the practical aspect of the students' training process, which provides real-world tools for dealing with the global arena, in addition to teaching our students to understand, build and change the social and legal reality in Israel. In light of this goal, every year, members of academic faculty from leading universities around the globe come to the school to teach courses, and our students participate in international student exchanges with various universities.

I write these words to you in the days following the transition of IDC Herzliya into Reichman University, the first private university in Israel – a change that reflects international recognition and groundbreaking academic excellence. On Behalf of  all the faculty members of Harry Radzyner Law School, we would like to wish you an enjoyable meaningful academic experience.

    Yours sincerely,
