A Study Trip in Prague - about Gaming, Entrepreneurship and an Iranian Missile Attack

By Inbar Yaniv, 3rd year psychology student

This year, I was thrilled to be accepted into the annual Game Changers program, a collaboration between the School of Entrepreneurship and the gaming giant Playtica. The main goal of the program is to develop a game or platform using the skills we've acquired throughout the year to create a positive impact in the world. A significant highlight of the program was our study tour to Prague in April, which provided a unique and enriching learning experience, as well as an opportunity for us to bond as a group.

As a psychology student, the worlds of entrepreneurship and gaming were completely new to me. This program has significantly expanded my knowledge, challenged me, and introduced me to a field I knew very little about. The trip to Prague was particularly special, allowing me to learn about the industry from the inside, gain insights from leaders in the field, and be inspired by the potential of stepping outside my comfort zone.

During our week in Prague, we met with leaders in the gaming industry and attended a lecture on entrepreneurship and decision-making at the University of Cervo. We also presented our ongoing projects, receiving valuable feedback. Beyond the professional learning, we explored the city, visited Jewish historical sites, enjoyed a pedal boat tour on the river, and indulged in some shopping.

One of the unplanned highlights was a visit to a VR multi-dimensional game experience, thanks to Sewell and Jonathan from our group. The cutting-edge use of technology and space created a highly immersive and realistic gaming experience, leaving us all exhilarated.

The trip ended on an unexpected note when, due to an Iranian missile attack, our flight back to Israel was rerouted, and we had to spend an additional day in Prague. This unforeseen event added another layer to our adventure, making it even more memorable.

For students approaching their final year, I highly recommend seizing the opportunity to participate in this incredible program. It offers invaluable learning experiences and the chance to push your boundaries. I extend my heartfelt thanks to Dr. Yossi Maaravi, Dean of the School of Entrepreneurship, the amazing Dana Barda, and all the lecturers who have guided us throughout this year. Their support and dedication have been instrumental in making this journey unforgettable.
