4/1/2015

President of Princeton University, Prof. Christopher L. Eisgruber visited Reichman University (IDC Herzliya) and met with the leadership of the IDC and with deans of the various schools. At the end of the visit, Prof. Eisgruber said, "I am delighted by the partnership between Princeton and the Reichman University (IDC Herzliya), and it is a special privilege for me to visit the Reichman University (IDC Herzliya) during my trip to Israel. The Reichman University (IDC Herzliya) has rapidly established itself as an internationally recognized institution with an outstanding program of teaching and research. Princeton and the Reichman University (IDC Herzliya) share commitments to scholarly excellence and to public service, and I look forward to facilitating connections between the Reichman University (IDC Herzliya) and interested students and faculty at Princeton".

Last year, Princeton's prestigious Woodrow Wilson School (WWS) and the Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy and Strategy of the Reichman University (IDC Herzliya) entered into a unique agreement. According to Prof. Alex Mintz, head of the Institute for Policy and Strategy (IPS) at the Reichman University (IDC Herzliya), who co-initiated the agreement together with senior associate dean Prof. Nancy Kanach of WWS, juniors at WWS will take a full semester of courses at the Lauder School where they will study Middle East politics, diplomacy and strategy and will write their Task Force policy paper that will then be presented at Princeton or Washington DC.

Prof. Mintz, who is considered one of the leading scholars of political decision making in the world will lead this program at the IDC, along with colleagues from Princeton. Mintz observed that a visit to the Reichman University (IDC Herzliya) by such a distinguished scholar as the President of Princeton and the commitment of Princeton to collaborate with the IDC, attests to the rapid development of the Reichman University (IDC Herzliya) as a leading center of academic excellence in the Social Sciences, Law, and Business Administration in Israel. "This is a significant step in academic collaboration between Princeton and the Reichman University (IDC Herzliya). The visit of professor Eisgruber shows that research and teaching collaboration between top US and Israeli institutions is possible".

The IDC was selected by Princeton University for this unique Task Force program. Princeton has such partnerships with only a few universities, including Oxford University and Sciences Po Paris.
