Tsumi

Tsumi is a smart companion that helps your family be present in the moment.

What is it?

Tsumi is a smart companion that helps your family be present in the moment.

It is located on your dinner table, and catches your attention while you or one of your family members is distracted by other digital objects, your smartphone specifically.

Tsumi makes sure that your attention is directed to the center of the table, and that all family members are not busy doing other things while eating dinner, except being in the here and now.

How it works?

Tsumi recognizes phone usage and responds to it using the built-in accelerometer in every smartphone. Once a phone that is connected to the app is moved, the app sends a massage to Tsumi’s computer, which activates the first speed spin. After 5 seconds of spinning without recognizing any fingers on it, the spin will speed up. The slowing down proccess works by closing 4 different electrical circuits - every finger thats placed on the conductive area on Tsumi will close one circuit, thus leading to a slow of the spin, Which will stop completely only when all 4 circuits are closed.
