What is it?

Clipaw is a smart clip that helps family members establish and maintain correct feeding habits for their dog. There is a problem with the eating habits of domestic dogs, which usually stems from the dog owners giving them incorrect habits. Research indicates that instilling correct feeding habits is giving food twice a day, at fixed times. However, many dog owners do not attach much importance to this criterion. Also, there is a difficulty in a family forum of synchronization and communication between the various members of the household regarding feeding the dog.

How does it work?

The clip is based on an ESP8266 controller with WiFi, a resistance sensor, LED strips, and a rechargeable battery. The user must set meal times and home WiFi to ensure its operation. Once the settings are updated, the clip's software synchronizes with the local time and starts its main logic. The main logic is a state machine whose primary purpose is to understand the current feeding status and act accordingly. If it is within the feeding time range, feeding as usual will be possible, and a meal will be counted. Otherwise, the component will flash a red light when opened to alert you that it is not a recommended feeding time. In addition, if feeding is forgotten, an alert will be sent in the family WhatsApp group as a reminder.
