The Asper Institute for New Media Diplomacy focuses on the study and application of new media technologies for use in diplomacy. The unique capabilities of these new technologies allow for innovative communication and enable us to promote diplomatic discourse and activities from different, and perhaps unexpected angles. Uses of new media also help us reach new and more varied audiences than reached by traditional media.

Activity

The institute’s researchers and students work to broadcast audiovisual information via new media platforms; social networks; blogs; viral marketing campaigns and the IDC radio. The institute also conducts academic research on the changing public opinion in virtual arenas.

About Us

The institute is headed by the Sammy Ofer School of Communications' Dean Prof. Noam Lemelshtrich Latar and international journalist and lecturer Anouk Lorie. For more information on the Asper Institute and any of its prohects, please e-mail lanouk@idc.ac.il.

NoCamels

In 2010, the Asper Institute launched nocamels.com, now the world's leading news website on Israeli innovation. The site is read by a large local and international audience and is affiliated with leading news organizations such as TheMarker and TheNextWeb.

It is staffed by IDC students who are trained by professional journalists. The students then tour the country to interview the leading Israeli innovators and attend conferences and events. This year-long, exclusive program provides students with exposure to the world of innovation and journalism.
