Publishing in an open access model (Open Access)
We are pleased to announce that Reichman University and MALMAD have successfully established agreements with several publishing houses under an Open Access model.
The costs of publishing in open-access journals can be high for researchers. Therefore, the library makes efforts to sign agreements, which allow publication for researchers and academic staff members at the university at no cost or at a reduced cost.
By the various agreements, Reichman University researchers can publish articles in the journals of these publishers with open access (Open Access). An article published under this agreement will be open and accessible to the general public.
Publishing articles in open access in the journals of Cambridge University Press
University researchers are not required to perform special actions when sending the article for publication to the publisher. An article by a university researcher will be accepted for publication after peer evaluation in the normal publication route, and then he will be asked if he wants to publish the article in Open Access.
You must confirm that you are interested in the Open Access model and the article will automatically be transferred to publication in the open route. When submitting the article to the publisher, you must use the Reichman University email address.

About the agreement with MALMAD
What is open-access publishing?
In recent years, the scientific community has promoted several initiatives to improve the accessibility of scientific publications.
Open-access publishing means giving free access to academic sources (articles, books, dissertations, reports) to anyone connected to the Internet without technical, financial, or legal restrictions other than the authors' copyrights.
The concept of open access makes it possible to distribute academic sources in any digital media or copy them freely, while ensuring that the sources are attributed to the authors and that their copyright and legal agreements are protected.
Open-access models:
Open access manuscripts are published in full-access or hybrid academic journals, as well as on the library repository sites, in institutional databases, disciplinary databases, or independent archives.
There are several models in the world for open-access publishing.
Golden Open Access Model:
In this model, copyrights belong to the author and sources are published in accessible and open journals on the Internet.
Articles and research are published in journals that publish only in open access or in hybrid journals.
Within this model, the publication costs apply to the researcher.
The researcher is required to pay APC - Article Processing Costs for the publication. The cost of treatment fees can range from hundreds to thousands of dollars - a high fee and this is the disadvantage of this model.
Green Open access Model:
The researcher can independently publish the article in a repository database in a non-final version at the same time as distributing it in a paid database.
Free access to the article opens after the 'embargo' time period (usually between 6-18 months).
The copyright under this track belongs to the publisher and there
are usage restrictions.
:Diamond Open access Model
As part of this track, non-profit institutions (organizations, associations, or networks) take care of the publication available on the Internet at no cost to readers. Commercial use of the publication is not allowed.
