USFQ offers a variety of sports classes, including fencing, soccer, volleyball, tennis, aerobics, basketball, taichi, and track and field. In addition, there are more than 30 student led clubs such as Latin American salsa club, tango club, yoga club, poker club.

Founded in 1988, USFQ is the first private non-profit university of Ecuador. Today, the university has more than 8,500 students and receives 1,000 international students per year. Ranked as one of the three top universities in Ecuador and #57 in Latin America (QS University Rankings).
USFQ is the only university in the world with scientific stations in the Amazon Basin and the Galapagos Island.


Located on the island of San Cristobal, the USFQ Galápagos campus offers international students the opportunity to study in one of the most pristine natural laboratories in the world. The Galápagos Semester Program offers four Academic Tracks in the biological and social sciences, all taught in English. Students may choose one of the following tracks: Evolution, Ecology and Conservation, Marine Ecology, People, Politics and the Environment, Sustainable Tourism.

Accommodation


Homestays with Ecuadorian host families in Quito (approximately 45 minutes from campus in public transportation), including breakfast and dinner, laundry service, a private room in the home and the experience of being another member of the family. Students who receive approval from their home institution to rent an apartment are responsible for making their own arrangements. Families are responsible for picking up the students at the airport.
