Eitan Wertheimer

 

​A leading figure in the world of business and a renowned philanthropist, Eitan Wertheimer is an industrial giant whose generosity has made a strong impact throughout Israel.


After graduating from a technical college in Haifa and serving in the Israeli Defense Forces, Eitan Wertheimer became a businessman and entrepreneur, establishing and turning around numerous companies throughout the world.


He later joined Iscar Ltd., the foremost innovator of metal cutting tools, rising to become the company’s CEO and president, as well as the president of Blades Technology, Ltd. Today, in addition to serving as the chairman of the Board at Iscar Ltd., he serves as chairman of Blades Technology Ltd. and chairman of TechJet.


Eitan Wertheimer has initiated and supported countless educational, cultural and public welfare projects, including many at Reichman University. He is a co-founder and member of the Board of Directors and steering committee of Erez College in Shlomi, a development town in northern Israel. Together with the IDF, the Jewish Agency and Bank Leumi, he co-founded and now chairs the International Board of Atidim, which is dedicated to building a strong Israeli society by bringing young people into income-making academic studies, thus maximizing human potential found in peripheral areas. The total number of young people taking part in the Atidim program today is 17,500.


Eitan Wertheimer is the chairman of a non-profit organization for the development and expansion of Rambam Hospital, northern Israel’s main medical hospital. He also serves as a board member of Bet Tzipora, which supports the integration of Ethiopian children into Israeli society by promoting education, and as a member of the Council for a Beautiful Israel. He is on the Board of Governors​ of the Jewish Agency and the strategic planning committee of Hadassah, is a member of the Board of Governors of the Technion, and heads the Loan Funds ‘Tzafona’ and ‘Daroma,’ together with the UJC, to advance economic success in northern and southern Israel.


Eitan Wertheimer has attended management courses at Harvard Business School and has received numerous​ awards, including the Rothschild Prize for product innovation and export, the Hugo Ramniceanu Prize in Economics from the University of Tel Aviv and the Israeli Prime Minister Prize for Economic Achievement. Internationally acclaimed, in 2001 he was appointed as an Honorary Police Commissioner by the Police Commissioner of New York City; in 2003 he was named Knight Commander of the Royal Order of St. Francis I at Westminster Cathedral in London, and in 2004 he was made a Knight of the Equestrian Order of Pope St. Sylvester in Belgrade.​
